Prayer & Service

SUNDAY MORNING SERVICES

Every Sunday morning at 10:00 we come together to sing, learn and pray. Led by one of our ministers, one of our regular preachers, or a visiting speaker. The service generally lasts an hour, and everyone is welcome. Three times a year we have an all-age service, targeted more towards family, and attended by members of our uniformed organisations.

PRAYER

When Jesus died on the cross He removed all barriers between us and God. There is no secret to praying to God, it’s just talking and listening. He wants to hear all your news, all your thanks, all your dreams. He’s also ready to listen to everything that gets you down, everything that weighs heavy on your mind, everything that breaks your heart.

And you can pray anyway you like. Some people do it silently, others out loud. Some people do it in the morning, others at night. Some people kneel with their hands together, others whilst they are walking down the street. Some pray with their eyes open, others with their eyes closed (hopefully not those who pray walking down the street!). The main thing is, God loves to hear from you. And if you listen carefully you will hear Him talking to you as well.

But prayer is not just a chat with God. There is immense power in prayer. There are so many instances where God has answered prayer that you could fill the internet with them. This doesn’t mean that every prayer provides us with the results we want, and even when it does, it isn’t always as quickly as we would like. There is also the undeniable fact that bad things happen to good people. But prayer does work. If you’re unsure, give it a try…you’ve got nothing to lose.

The church family is also here to help. If you have any questions about prayer, or if you would like us to pray for you, all you have to do is ask. You can speak to a member of the church, call us, or email us at contact@samchurch.org.uk. Your prayer request will be treated with absolute confidentiality. We’d love to hear from you.
